“Motions”

Stormy Grey Abstract

Motions is a large long rectangular piece of abstract wall art that I created using a mix of acrylic and household white paint as a base coat. When the first layer of white paint was dry I then started to accent the canvas with black.

I really loved painting this abstract painting, it was so much fun. The dramatic contrast between black and white is so obvious and when I add fast-moving brush strokes across the painting it gives the work such character. The relationship between black and white is classical in its feel but also so beautiful.

I love the black paint drips that run down through the blended grey and white paint. This is a large artwork but it has lots of fine details that reveal hints of colours and layers that lurk under the surface. A very interesting a sophisticated piece of contemporary art for any space.
